You must be be a Film or Media major to earn academic credit for a film/media internship.

To earn academic credit for a media or film internship, you must have taken Media 180 or Film 101, plus three courses in your major.
To earn academic credit for a journalism internship, students must have completed MEDPL 201 (Reporting & Writing 1).

To earn academic credit for your internship, you must be a student in good standing with a GPA of at least 3.0 within your major.
NOTE: Internships are graded Credit/No Credit (neither grade impacts your GPA) and count as general electives, not toward the major.

You can earn one academic credit per 40 hours of work performed over the course of the semester. For example, a 120-hour internship would equal 3 units of academic credit.
Students may take a maximum of 12 internship credits as a general elective in the course of their Hunter career, and no more than 6 per semester. During short semesters, such as summer or winter, the cap is 3 credits, though another three may be rolled over to fall or spring.
Internship credits count as general electives for your degree and do not fulfill course requirements in your major.
Tuition is paid per academic credit for an internship just like a class.
